Within the Washington Elementary School District there are five Middle Schools - Cholla, Desert Foothills, Mountain Sky, Palo Verde, and Royal Palm

Currently, the five Middle Schools offer the following sports:

• 7th Grade Girls' Volleyball
• 8th Grade Girls' Volleyball
• 7/8 Grade Boys' Volleyball
• 7/8 Grade Boys' and Girls' Cross Country
• 7/8 Grade Girls' Soccer
• 7/8 Grade Boys' Soccer
• 7th Grade Boys' Basketball
• 8th Grade Boys' Basketball
• 7th Grade Girls' Basketball
• 8th Grade Girls' Basketball
• 7/8 Grade co-ed Cheer
• 7/8 Grade Co-ed Wrestling
• 7/8 Grade Girls' Softball
• 7/8 Grade Boys and Girls Track and Field 

Purpose:

• To develop sports skills by offering a wide range of opportunities to participate and focus on higher-level instruction.
• To develop the positive values of athletics, including sportsmanship, teamwork, cooperation, and competition.
• To provide as many students as possible the opportunity to participate in activities they enjoy.
• To provide competitive situations preparing student athletes for the transition to the High School level.
• To build school pride and provide leadership opportunities to student athletes.
